Tremolo ..slow your roll!
So I the princeton reverb I built has a nice tremolo but I wasn't totally happy with it.
1. Lacked depth
2. Can't get it to go slow enough
I solved problem one by substituting the 1 meg resistor from pin 1 of v4, the last preamp tube I think, with s 470k resistor.
How do I solve problem 2?
Cheers

Timing caps and resistors in the oscillator circuit. It's a bit of a juggle - make it too slow and it's like a car that won't start.

Re: Tremolo ..slow your roll!
There are a couple of ways of solving problem number 2, namely swapping one of the resistors, or increasing one of the capacitors, in the RC network between the LFO stage's plate and grid will change the trem speed. So to slow it down a little you could (say) put another .01uF in parallel with one of the existing .01uFs* (to make .02uF in that location). Or you can change the trem speed pot taper (with a tapering resistor).
(Edit: *depending on which one of the caps you double up on, it affects either the onset or the peak or the decay of the LFO wave-form. You might want to experiment with the cap location to see which does it for you)

I thought he was flatting in Remmers at that time....StrummersOfThunder wrote:I had a 77 Holden kingswood like that.

When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Actually, Raglan. I was a familiar sight to motorists commuting to Hamilton, as I would have to stop at the top of the raglan hill most mornings due to the kingswood over heating. Good times.
