hooking a 1x12 to a home amp

Post by Olderama »

Hi all

Just want some advice regarding hooking up my krank 1x12 to my Technics's stereo amp
The krank is 8 ohms and the amp can handle it (not going to push it too hard)

The plan is to run guitar rig through it and disable the cab emulation
If I get a speaker lead and snip one end off and leave the jack end for the krank and split the lead for the connection to the amp it should work with no damage?
Not to bothered about the amp its the speaker more so

Cheers

Why don't you just go into the fx loop of the crank instead of using the technics? You'd be using just the power section of the amp so all the controls on the front wouldn't do anything, volume would be controlled via Gr

Hi mate

That sounds like a plan but I'm after keeping the krank away from the youngest as he has s tendency to climb it and also I don't want him to touch the tubes and burn his fingers
So the krank is in the bedroom with the THD 2x12 and the 1x12 is going to be in the lounge so I can get on it at night quietly
Cheers

So you sleep alone, huh?
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
