Working on a deal with a bloke. He's offered me a Ceriatone Train Wreck chassis (as per the pic) as part of the deal but I've no clue as to how to put a value on it. Full working order etc. but I'd have to make a case for it. Would anybody know what this would realistically sell for on TradeMe? Thanks.
Ken designed and built the originals, they go for silly money. There are a lot of kits out there. Ceriatone supply some nice kits including a pre-built option, these would fetch up to $1000 I reckon. A "home-made" kit could be worth anything from $1 to about $1000+ maybe.
You need to know exactly what it is and to what standard it was built. (gut shots required etc.)
If its an original I'll give you $1000 for it now
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...
Is that picture the actual amp? If so, it's a Trainwreck Express cos it looks like EL34s in the power section. (Of course it's not a Trainwreck really because Ken Fischer never made two amps exactly the same. They were all custom made for individuals).
You will probably like it. Even if you don't, it will be a very good amp. It's easily worth $1k but you have to put a box around it. Push for $800 but the owner's probably wanting 12.
