Nice, and I'm willing to bet that it's a damn sight lighter than my 2x12, since you didn't have my Dad bracing the crap out of it :D :P

It's not 18mm Baltic birth (would be my first choice) but it's pretty deep (about 350mm) almost as much as a Mesa Recto 2x12 cab which should hopefully give it some kick!
Will assess the bracing situation once the glue has dried, might need some more yet.
What dimensions is your one?

That's a reasonable size too, do you think the 350 depth adds to the bottom end/kick of the cab?

Will depend what I can afford. Will see what crops up over the next few months, maybe a Greenback. I'm sure the Gold would be the best but I doubt that will agree with my wallet or wife!

Looks good, a big cab gives a lot of bottom end (although its a bit speaker dependent of course) but bracing is what makes it sound nice and tight and not boomy.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Just had a play through it with the 1 x G12H75 I have and it defiantly has some thump! Even with just one speaker, although perhaps not much open airy chime. Might have to re look at how much open the back needs to be. It felt very similar to the old Mesa 2x12 and Orange 2x12s I used to own, good thump and presence! Although a lot of fun, kinda defeats the purpose of putting a Vox through it.

No just butt jointed the top and sides, bracing inside with 1" square timber and the same 1" square timber for where the front baffle sits and the back.
It's a cross between a bunch of different versions I saw online on how to make one.
Some people use finger joints which is really strong but If you look in any production amp from Vox mine is probably on par to be honest.
Had the back off my VHT this arvo to have a look and I've done more than they have, although it's a 1x12 combo so I suppose it doesn't need much.

Is this enough bracing? This is my first cab build so I'm no expert.
They are all glued and screwed for extra strength.
