Anyone got a bright idea about trouble shooting a bit of note decal fizz/crackle in Princeton reverb
Cleans are a. O.k but driven I get a pesky few crackles during note decay
Not entirely sure where to start
Tubes are all new

Research JUST conducted:

I can confirm that spilling half a glass of brothers beer on the amp DOESNT help.

what sort of board are the parts mounted on? With these one has to watch ghost grounding through the black fibre board. Any moisture whatsoever and you'll hear what you're describing. As one potential option anyway.

Does beer count as moisture?

That beer was particularly moist

It's garolite

sounds silly, but dry it out in the hot water cupboard....see how it goes

rule out the easy stuff first, change the tubes (one at a time is fine), you won't even need a soldering iron to test that out. New tubes doesn't guarantee anything.

I had this same thing with an old build - and even my '73 Princeton was doing it. In both cases the garolite was to blame. But yes, tube change first.

Hmmm
The garolite is not that weird shorty floppy black stuff, its nice thick turret board (Clarry and Ryan approved) stuff.
The best way to describe the problem is fizz during the tail decay of notes when over driven.
Given I mainly play clean its not a HUGE issue but occasionally I like to get my rawk on.

I have no idea what you're talking about, valveswell.
