Also you can just make a separate frame for the cloth as an option

I should have a PhD in procrastination by now. While cleaning up the mess there was quite a bit of plywood left, along with an ancient little toy amp languishing in the corner. Tadaaaaaa! Woodworking fun: 1, guitar practice: 0!
One day that uneven gap under the coloured buttons will aggravate my OCD, but for now I can't be arsed. That was just a scrap of ply that happened to come close to the required dimensions.
