Capacitors and other component supply

Post by Timoes »

Heyoop ! Got a Hot rod Deluxe on the bench with leaky caps. Where are the good local (NZ) based suppliers to get this stuff from now. Ryan used to supply me everything I could ever need in good time at good prices but I'm not so sure he is doing that stuff now days. Spose I could flick him a email..? See he is still listing a swag of stuff on TM.

Where do you guys get your electronic supplies from at the mo ?

Element14 do o'nite from Aus normally. Mouser 3-4 days ex States. RS do 2 days normally, they have a NZ warehouse. Check the stock lead times item by item, sometimes they come from far out warehouses and take longer to arrive..

Fleabay is where I get a lot of electronic parts stuff these days - usually someone in China that does free (or dirt cheap) shipping. All sorts available: Sprague orange drops, silver micas, lectros, everything.

Jaycar have some shit. Rs-online or whatever it is that jb pointed me to are one of those arsehole businesses that advertise their shit as "in stock" when it isn't in stock, and it's sitting somewhere overseas.
My switch took almost two weeks to get here.

Post was free, but it's still false advertising.

Thats shit. Might go with a more reputable source as mentioned above. Quality is important to me and I dont mind waiting a bit longer for it if it doesn't suck.
