For some unknown reason I started another 1x12 cab build, and a ported/detuned one at that!

Not much progress today, still trying to find a suitable white vinyl for the grill surround but apart from that it’s pretty much done!

And the finished product!
Well minus the handle and feet which are on order.
And it matches my new amp visually and tonality wise!
Big thanks to Steve (Dharmajester) who let me use his place to finish off the cabinet while I’ve been away from home in Dunedin (didn’t think the motel would appreciate the glue fumes or overspray in my room)
And Steve can back me up on this, it sounds really good!
Better bass response than a normal cab and it seems to suit the Alnico Gold very well.
And for comparisons sake, this is what I was copying.

That looks excellent, well done. It needs a little Reg logo to tie it up

Splendid job on this. Reg gets better with each build and this one really does sound stupidly good. Huge projection, masses of bottom end and lots of clarity. Goldilocks Cab

Haha, I love building them for myself but there are so many good cheap cabs on the market it just wouldn’t be worth it.Molly wrote:regcabs.co.nz
Although Steve and I were discussing how big a 2x12 ported cab could sound......I might check how much ply and vinyl I’ve got left!

I should lend you the head and cab, being a 50watt Plexi owner I’m pretty sure you would love this 10watt rig!kdawg2a wrote:Looks awesome Reg!
It’s in the ballpark for sure, but quieter!
