Re: Building a Jansen 4/TWELVE SPECIAL copy (slowly)
that looks really good. i'm not sure how big the knobs are, but is any of the writing going to be covered by the them? I really like the idea of having jvpp on there.
i'm shocking with anything to with design. would the jvpp look better level (instead of on an angle) and maybe above the red line between the inputs and volume ?
or call it the Jansen jvpp special?
dunno - looks great now anyway

Thanks Danny for your feedback, knobs are 21mm diameter so no probs. I put the jvpp on there so to avoid being accused of presenting it as the real mccoyAiRdAd wrote:that looks really good. i'm not sure how big the knobs are, but is any of the writing going to be covered by the them? I prefer the angled 'jvpp' but below one that is straight as per your suggestion.
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Sure, I'll do anything for one of your printsStrummersOfThunder wrote:Might get you do do one for my amp !
You should do one of Whatipu and instead of tiki art put a fisherman in there with real short shorts

I'm sure there's a market for that. In Holland.jvpp wrote:Sure, I'll do anything for one of your printsStrummersOfThunder wrote:Might get you do do one for my amp !

Oh I don't know, there are all kinds of weird perversions outside of Holland. Probably invented there though.StrummersOfThunder wrote:I'm sure there's a market for that. In Holland.jvpp wrote:Sure, I'll do anything for one of your printsStrummersOfThunder wrote:Might get you do do one for my amp !

I think the Jansen logo bit should be centred between the knobs and main switch, otherwise looks great!

Thanks. Yes agreed, but I thought I would leave space for a Master pot...jeremyb wrote:I think the Jansen logo bit should be centred between the knobs and main switch, otherwise looks great!

Bummer, engraver doesn't want to put my version of the Jansen logo on because of potential copyrights issues....

You don't need the Jansen name. Yours will probably be better built anyway. If you want to acknowledge origins, an 'Inspired by...' label inside will do the trick nicely.jvpp wrote:Bummer, engraver doesn't want to put my version of the Jansen logo on because of potential copyrights issues....
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Yeah, it does need something there - huge open space. Needs six letters, or, more with smaller font.
