A few amps built up this year . . .
https://photos.app.goo.gl/53aEdbPsemY3PhNEA
Hi all
I thought I'd post a couple of pics of amps I've built up this year.
5c5 lil Geraldine
Started off as the main cinema amplifier used in the south Canterbury town of Geraldine from the late 50s to mid 80s. Rebuilt as an early bassman.
5e3 6l6 stinky Pete
Thrown together one week from junk lying around. A gutsy little guy. My first attempt at a cabinet. Opt is a 20w line transformer from global pc. Worked well for what it is.
Selmer little giant
Was originally an old radiogramme add on amplifier c.1959. very much a one trick pony but I'm pleased with the tone.
Teerad car battery charger amp
Found a cool case and couldn't resist trying to squeeze an amp into it. Based on a epiphone junior with a valve rectifier. Phillips PT and ot from an old tape recorder. Pilot light is us military from the 40s. On off switch is on the vol pot.
I also mucked around with a few matchless lighting and spitfire clones but they are out on loan.
I picked up a couple of old Jansen chassis from a fella on here. Will do something with these in the new year. In the meantime, I've got to finish the 200w orange I've been building up for my daughter.
Cheers
Paul

Well done Paul! Thanks for sharing. Now we have to get you and your offspring to a gearfest.
200W Orange for your daughter?
Brave you are; brave.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Cheers guys. I'd love to hear some proper playing thru my amps. I am a pretty rubbish guitarist. I'll bring some alone to a CHCH gearfest whenever.

Thankd for the kind words. I am tickled by the responses. I'll post a pic later of my 9yo's 200w 4x 6550 bass head.
I've got quite a few old military test equipment cases sitting around. I think I'll make a few more unusually cased beasties.
Cheers Paul
