Forget them all and just buy a Wizard MC.

I don't know why you're bothering to mod it to a XTC or a SLO - the bestchoice would be to mod it to a Katana!!!

There must be enough of a difference between the standard and the 20th anniversary if Bogner is making separate Synergy modules for each

Well, GodGrinder’s Wizard MC is the best metal amp I have ever played for sure, but I only play Thrash and extreme metal style hence my perception is very narrow and limited.griff7628 wrote:I heard they're magic to play through!DongHua wrote:Forget them all and just buy a Wizard MC.

The tone is like a Wizards sleeve!

Re: Bogner XTC or SLO 100
A few component changes to SLO spec would be the path of least resistance.
I found the SLO & XTC very different.
SLO definitely the brighter of the two.
I’m a Marshall guy at heart, so the XTC is my preference.
It just has a warmth & chewiness not found in the SLO.
Speaking with the 20th Anniv in mind.
Both top shelf amps, just depends on the sound you’re after.

Re: Bogner XTC or SLO 100
with either modifications, which channels do you get? Theres a lot of difference between the 3 channels on the XTC, and the SLO with the modelled versions
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

With the SLO I can do a Plexi/Heavy Crunch on the crunch channel with the SLO on the 2nd channelBg wrote:with either modifications, which channels do you get? Theres a lot of difference between the 3 channels on the XTC, and the SLO with the modelled versions
For the Bogner I could do an Uberschall or XTC red on 2nd channel and an XTC Blue or Shiva or plexi type thing on the 1st channel. With a switch that can add or remove gain.

Cool. Dont actually know much about them. But I do know Chris Cheney plays through a Wizard Modern classic II. He's the man. He has great tone too.DongHua wrote:Well, GodGrinder’s Wizard MC is the best metal amp I have ever played for sure, but I only play Thrash and extreme metal style hence my perception is very narrow and limited.griff7628 wrote:I heard they're magic to play through!DongHua wrote:Forget them all and just buy a Wizard MC.

Played through a humble Jcm800 when I saw him earlier this year. Still great tone.griff7628 wrote:Cool. Dont actually know much about them.
