Have liked the look of the vaporizer amps, and fekt they would be a good platform to build something cool inside the chassis of.
Anyone taken the obvious next step to gut and convert one of these? Any amp geeks ablke to say what the existing transformer compliment would be able to be utilised for?

No idea, but if you read what he said:

"I bought a vaporizer with scratched tolex for chep as my first "tube amp", but didn't like the sound that much, so I learned about vintage electronic and used the cab and chassis as a playground for a fully custom tube amp.

The circuit is 100% from scratch, so the first sound it made was really something.

My circuit was based on the 59 bassman with additional reverb, but ended up with a lot of mods to the circuit to get the sound I want.

Here are the main features: -one volume (no master volume), with bright cap switchable -TMB tone stack, values half way between fender vintage and modern voicing -tube driven reverb with dedicated tone control (reverb is before the tone stack), accutronic long decay reverb tank -harmonic tremolo (bias wiggle) with intensity and speed control -EL84 AB Power amp (no NFB because it messes with the tremolo) -Jensen P10Q speakers -huge choke tranny (random choke transformer fou d on ebay) -Tube heater elevated voltage

I'm too biased to tell how good it sounds but it meetd my expectations : -very low hum/noise (basically no noise when reverb is off) -nice breakup with no fizz or artefact -lots of reverb -strong low end, wide tone range"

Wouldn't it be cheaper to build a cab from scratch? I mean, you're throwing away everything else.

You would hope you could reuse the trannies, tube sockets, filter caps etc?

Why? They'll be the cheapest available.

Not if the chassis and transformers are usable.
Actually not even if they aren’t.
Show me a way that time and materials to make a bespoke cool looking 2x10 combo cab and a folded chassis comes out under $500
