Fender have probably never made a Jazzmaster that good.

Re: Jazzmaster build - NSFW fauxjo content
Definitely up for comparing mine. It has AVRI 65 pickups in it. I've modded the rhythm circuit in mine to include both pickups instead of neck pup only and it's great. I use it all the time like that. The rhythm circuit is a hugely wasted opportunity IMO- quick switch for a completely different sound seems like a great idea to me. Although I'm tempted to redo mine like this but with master tone and master bass cut as the tone controls for added versatilities.

It's gorgeous. The only way it could be better is if it had this colour scheme: https://youtu.be/99ksFeq0fwI?t=46s

Cool as. Interesting bridge - very well engineered and looks stainless...
Are the pickup poles following the fretboard radius?

When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

It's a Mastery Bridge. Strummers has one on his Jag and I have one on my Jazzmaster. Awesome, highly engineered bit of kit.jvpp wrote:Cool as. Interesting bridge - very well engineered and looks stainless...

The resemblance stops at being able to bend a JM up a note or more as per Nels...sheesh, these are a handful to dig into due to the long string length.Slowy wrote:Actually, It might be a great match. I reckon Grant bears more than a passing resemblance to Nels Cline.
Thanks for the kind words all. It was fun to build something from "new" bits.

Goodness me!
Great work Grant. Looks superb.
How are you enjoying the hotter pups and relatively low value pots (compared to the traditional peel your face off 1meg JM situation.)
I found on my old Jap JM that anything under 1 meg with SD quarter pounders got too muddy.
Oh and dibs unless that has allready been claimed !

Very nice Grant, really like the body and pick guard colour contrast. Is that pop rivets in the pick guard?

HI Grant,
The guitar looks great! You've solved the two issues for me that bug me about the Jazzmaster. The wiring schematic, and the bridge. Adrian changed the wiring on my Jazzmaster and it made a very notceable difference.
Well done!!!
