yeah but all tuner spacing isn't the same, did it come predrilled, they'll be drilled in metric and your tuners will be imperial, in old money.

Yeah the headstock holes were predrilled. At least the GFS tuner specs said would fit 9mm holes and they were accurate on that. The holes were only out by a couple of mm each but hey I got it to work. Quite chuffed with how it looks.

Cheers mate. And neck attached

I am going to go for the Dual Tone look tone and volume controls on top split and the input jack and selector switch on the bass side back behind the bridge pup.

I got the back mounting blocks in and the back centre block attached.

Image

Then applied the foam gap filler to the centre block and mounting blocks. This was a mistake, I should have left it until later as the back centre block needed some sanding to fit and one screw needed to be fitted tighter. So I had to lift some of the foam = pain in the arse

Image

Then calculated the centre of the blocks and masked off the back to try and prevent chip out of the gel coat, and drilled for the mounting screws.

And drilled

Looks like minimal chipping. A bit stymied now as I wait for some parts to arrive, was going to use a resonator tailpiece but that would need too much modding, so have a tailpiece incoming.

Masked the top so I can lay out the pickups and controls tomorrow.

Some dress washers should cover up any minor chippage, though?

For sure, they supply those in the body kit. What I should have done is drill the pilot hole from the back and then go up through the drill bits from the front. Seem to have got away with drilling all from the back.

A little more work, waiting on some parts in particular the tailpiece before I can complete this.

Got the scale length sorted and a slot drilled for the neck pup pole pieces so it sits flat. Managed to get the body halves buttoned up pretty good , will only need a small amount of finessing with the joint strip to look good.

I'll need some help with the wiring. I bought a Gibson style harness with the standard 3 way switch but ordered a 3 way strat/tele style from the Tone Lounge and will need some help wiring it in.

And BG what is the distance between the pickups on the Supro? I think these are about the same size so placement of the bridge pup would be useful.

Well my parts never arrived Friday so was stymied on most stuff. Managed to cut the slot for the switch and drill the output jack and then lay out the controls. Going with switch and jack on the lower bouts and Vol/Tone on top.

Not much to report, still waiting for parts particularly the tailpiece so I can align everything. Mounted the neck pickup and the switch plate.

I like this project a lot. It reminds me of assembling one of those toys from a kinder surprise .

After tonight Kinder Surprise would be a god send. This thing kicked my butt all ways except Sunday. Followed their instructions for aligning the tailpiece, but you need 6 hands to make that work.

Have had to move the tailpiece 3 times and drill new holes (thankfully will be hidden under the side binding) and do a fair bit of panel beating to get it to fit. My advice, just buy their tailpiece, I may yet. 4 hours to get to this

Image

The Gretsch bridge is not going to work and I will need to shim the neck. I need advice on how to rewire the Gibson 3 way switch to the Fender style 3 way (Thanks to Tone Lounge it got here quick)

My electronic knowledge is limited to following Seymour Duncan wiring diagrams so if anyone has a diagram like that it would be much appreciated.
