Re: Pulling knobs off
I always thought the knob was there to stop the hand falling off the end. Might pay to leave it on?

If it was epoxy, you can break the bond with a heat gun. Obviously this is a bad idea if they're plastic knobs, or if you care at all about the paint work on your guitar. But that's how we get the heads off golf clubs, which are glued with epoxy.

2 spoons. With a little padding under the bowl of said spoon - starting with teaspoons - put the tips of the spoons under the knobs opposite each other and lever away to your hearts content... or indeed till the bastard shaft pulls out!!
You can get some real leverage with this, and if the teaspoons fail, move on to big fuck-off, table spoons...

There is no sort of aberrant behaviour that cannot be modified by use of the correct ammunition!

+1. Had to get a knob off a pedal earlier today that was really stuck and this worked a treat Had just read this as wellTerexgeek wrote:ash recommended to me using a shoelace, wrapping around the shaft tightly in the middle of the shoelace and then pulling with the two handy lengths. Worked for me.
