Where could I source a new magnet?

Post by Timoes »

Doing up an ancient Ibanez bass for a guy and one of the magnets is broken in half. I would like to replace it but where do could such a thing be procured from?

And is there a way to test or tell what type it is, like alnico, ceramic, or whatever? :?: :?:

Hi, I'm not sure if it would work but how about just gluing the magnet back together...or...being a magnet wouldn't the 2 halves just magnet themselves back together? Cheers.

Yep the glue idea had entered my mind. Just thinking it could loose some of its flash magnetical mojo tho. ? See Stew Mac does some but just not quite the right size. Are they machinable or workable in any way ?
