WOW! That's what you call....... Starting from scratch!
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Although I'm more shocked by the flagrant lack of hearing protection.

Yip, got pulled 10 years ago when we subdivided the old farm. If it is from the original farm it would be about 80 years old. Been drying for the last 10 and cut it up last year. The slab you see is about 110mm thick. With a bit of luck I get two bodies out of it, the second one probably a bit rough with left over nail holes.shit thats one big fence post
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

on a side note, anyone ever used titoki for guitars? ... I had a bit of titoki fire wood and I drop a split log and it made the most amazing bell like "ping" when it hit the ground so I did a bit of tap testing and it sounded really resonant. A mate of mine has a big tree with a branch he wants off that must be 250/300mm wide, so some cutting and drying is in the pipeline

Interested to see how you go. Perhaps you can buy some and avoid the wait.

Re: Projects in the pipeline thread!
I have found if I mill it to roughly the thickness I will be using (allowing for plaining) it dries pretty quickly...and i'm pretty slow when it comes to building so no rushjvpp wrote:http://ngaitahu.iwi.nz/our_stories/good ... ld-titoki/
