You shouldn't have bumped it. It exposes my total lack of progress on the archtop...
Have you made a start on it yet? Be interested to see how you tackled he fret board angle on the body.

Good things take time!
All the timber for the bodies has been cut and thicknessed. I am cleaning up the workshop before I make a start. Going to carve a top first as I have never done that before. Neck angle will be easy.
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Me too! What was the wood again jvpp?
My current project, along with the pile of other peoples guitars under my work bench, is the following.
Taking this
And turning it into this
"Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible god and destroys a visible nature. Unaware that this nature he's destroying is this god he's worshipping." - Hubert Reeves
Finally managed to take a trip to the burbs and visited Adrian's new timber storage facility. Picked up a lovely piece of body sized blackwood - rings like a bell, and a neck sized piece of Kwilla.
So no excuses now... build thread coming up. The BG Master Custom Shop is open for orders, basic telecasters from $5000 USD for a bit of fretboard rolling
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Likes Blackwood, I does. Looks great, sounds better.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
I had some problems using macro. Thought I'd try using it as a cap on an eds-1275 build with mahogany back. The two woods didn't like each other with the macro drying and cracking, and the whole thing cupped. Only found out after that macro is prone to drying and checking. Have filled in the cracks and hasn't moved. Might still finish it with a solid color.
Hope that doesn't happen for you. But it has real nice grain, be good to see how it turns out.
Hmmm, I like this for a natural finish. Supposedly Koa, so unachievable with my timber choice. The closest I think I could get to that would be with acacia melanoxylon (blackwood) but the timber I have is not wide enough so would need 3 or 4 joints.
