Amazing SRV Strat build video

Post by Mini Forklift »

Watched this last night, this guy has some serious talent (and patience)!

Even if SRV isn't your thing, this video is fascinating to watch. There's around 24hrs of work sped up into a 10 minute video, my only criticism would be that it's a shame they couldn't have found a better/more convincing guitarist to showcase it at the end.

For those of you that build/have built guitars I'd love to know what you thought of it. I was pretty impressed myself :)

Or maybe that's a good thing. It's now a perfectly self contained example of how having a guitar built to look like a legend's guitar gets you precisely nowhere to sounding like that legend.

very cool video - it would be great to have another video that is in realtime, where you can use this video as an index, and then go to the bits you like and watch them in realtime.

Shame he went with a three-piece body.

Would it be something thing to do with how jimi hendrix uhad his trem? - as in he had the guitar upside down and the trem arm was at the top.

it'd be the same, whereby they'd both have the trem arm on the top end of the trem, instead of the bottom
