Drinking a bottle of wine during the setup process will make things go pleasantly smooth one would think

Coil winder, mainly for guitar pickups at this point, although I want to wind some audio transformers at some point in the master plan. Its been a long project and various things have happened that have drawn this out...life.

Re: Show us your workshop
That is a nice workshop, although at first I thought you hijacked your kitchen
Some nice gear there, I like that combined lath and drill machine a lot.
Am I right to think you are using a 240VAC motor?
Are you controlling the speed through varying the magnetic field?
I am 'building' one too and have the counter bit sorted but still making up my mind what motor to use.

Yeah I have soft close cupboards FFS. The combined lathe mill is very useful and is great for my limited space.
In line with my reuse ethos, I have used a sewing motor, ex Husqvana, the rest is from materials I had already. Speed control is via the sewing machine foot controller, I have stuck a dimmer in the circuit to to bring the speed range down too, as it was too fast and would not jog at low speed in a controlled way. Probably easier ways of doing this using DC motors with reduction box and speed controller.

Cool as. If I can I move the routing table outside as well, especially if it is sunny and lots of wind to blow the dust away.Bg wrote:Todays workshop.... far too nice to be in the basement, besides, its full of all kinds of shit.
