Nice work! But do you find yourself hitting the knobs above the bridge when you play?

Nah it can be simple, I chose to buy a neck that needed finishing (it looks like the old Airline necks from the '60s). If you can drill a hole, use a ruler, handle a screwdriver and mix epoxy you can build one. Just buy a finished harness and finished neck and it really is just bolt together.

No problem so far, I pick pretty much down the middle or fingerpick so they aren't really in the way. I am going to seal it up this weekend, everything works and it sounds and plays great.

Yeah that's why I am leaving it until the weekend. Now talk to me about this bleed circuit, what does it do? I am an electronics dufus, the in parallel thing in the middle position is not a worry as I just won't turn the volumes down.

The pickups are P90'ish but with more treble. They actually sound really good.

Been discussed here before but cannot find thread. Have a read of this link. Should explain it all.

I think i've seen somewhere that you can solder the ends of the bleed components to aligator clips, then you can just clip it on and see if you like it without soldering to your pots etc.

Don't bother with the resistor, just use the capacitor. The little ceramic ones are ideal as they're small. You can solder it to aligator clips or even just crimp it together with pliers as I've done. Handy thing to have in the parts box. I clipped one in when I first got my Cabronita and it was a marked improvement so I soldered the cap in permanently.

Read this first before you decide on removing the resistor. For old ears it probably doesn't matter but young players may not like the removal of the resistor.

Happy with how this is playing so started the binding. Probably the hardest part getting it lined up right and then the rubber band dance

Oh I see you've joined a band...

I have been trying to post since yesterday but Photobucket has been down for a day and couldn't post pics so opened a Flickr account. Finished this up late Thursday. Really pleased with how it turned out, plays great, sounds great and looks pretty good.

Like it so much next year I am going to do the Jetsons/J B Hutto model.

That is looking awesome! I really want the JB Hutto, is there a waiting list for it, you said they only do so many a time?

My understanding is they make about 150 bodies a year. They only have Belmonts like this listed on the website at the mo'. I am going to email Dan some pics of this so I'll ask about availability for early next year.

I really have been surprised by how well this plays, I made a few cock ups but managed to fix them. It also feels a good weight, the centre blocks are maple so feels about the same as a light 335 style guitar.
