Nice work there Lawrence, impressive looking guitar.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

How does the neck joint work? looks glued in, but it's very shallow?

yes glued...its quite shallow - about 20 mm but goes right under the pickup. plenttyof contact.

Thats a stellar build. How much of the maple layer is in there - does it match the internal hollowed out "shape" of the mahogany, or is it full top? And did you carve the top inside to match to outside?

The maple is just a rim about 15 mm wide except for a 100 mm squarish section under the bridge/pickup and around the neck socket & pickup.. The top is dished out to match.

its louder than a solid..maybe louder than a 335...fine for unplugged practice...but not loud like a jazz arch top.
