oh I thought you had a couple of spacers or whatever in the black dot to keep the strings straight or whatever past the nut. Obviously I've got something wrong, either the terminology or their existence in the first place!

The rosewood circle is the truss rod cover!

I like it but:
the strat input jack mounted on the side as per Hamer would make the top look a little cleaner

Re the jack, I'm looking at a recessed socket idea but it's quite hard to do. This guitar was not deep enough
