i laugh every time I see Calliper
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Re: A brother for my Tele...
Ended up fretting tonight, took me about 3 hours all up. But that included fretting, levelling, polishing, couple of coats of tru-oil and some waxing. Levelling was very minor, which is always good as it means the neck was pretty straight and the frets were all well seated.
Fret ends were dressed with my trusty triangle file but I used my new stewmac crowning tool thing, which made it a breeze. Frets were then polished up to 1200 grit and then some synthetic wire wool. I'll buff them out tomorrow with the dremel and polishing thingy.
As there was still an hour or so in the very crap movie I was watching, I did the body round over with a file and then finish sanded the body. Still have the routing to do so there will be more sand/polishing later but its coming along nicely.
Pics tomorrow in daylight. Should be finished by next weekend if all parts arrive in a timely fashion! took some pics of the fretting but its pretty boring to look at haha.

Re: A brother for my Tele...
and heres some pics of the progress
as the frets go in. I ended up with 3 drops of superglue on each one as the frets were a tiny bit undersized. Don't want them to move.
not a bad crowning job, even if I say so myself. Will buff later today
Going to use this brass nut that came from the Greco I had briefly. Looks like it needs a shim...
The neck feels awesome but I don't really like maple necks that much, so this is probably just going to be temporary and its not exactly high quality - even though it's going to play like buttah
Phwoar, sexy body! That scratch on the fretboard has been there forever, would need to take a fucktonne of wood out to get rid. Oh well.
and one more...

Re: A brother for my Tele...
not much done today, buffed out the frets, plugged the neck holes with doweling.
Parts already here : Bill Lawrence keystone tele pickups. Cheapie chinese bigsby thing- would work ok, but I don't really like the look. may bang it on the old sx body I have.
Waiting for: Bigsby B5, Wilkinson bridge (may modify this for the gretsch rocking bridge thingy), Pro series wiring kit - 2nd one I've had, very nicely put together from good parts!, neck plate (genuwhine fender, the only part of the guitar that is haha), jack socket etc. All should arrive this week, hopefully just in time for my 37th birthday on tuesday.
Happy birthday to me!

When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.
