Is it a nitro can of lacquer with a little bit of white mixed in, or just a very thin coat of white?
It's from the Spray Store which has relocated to Sockburn area. Had two cans of Olympic White mixed (well, I matched it to a swatch they had called something else). Have only used one can and that included throwing away the first attempt as it was too thick.

Would've been much easier if it was clear with a little white mixed in I guess though the final finish might've been thicker. This is a very thin finish. Just two passes with the first flatted back.

Buying one can is expensive. Buying two isn't as bad as the second is cheaper and the guy gave me the trade price. Think it was about $70 for the two. If you want the other Reg you can have it for $30?
I might actually take you up on that, although I’m contiplating doing a clear with some white mixed in.
I’ll do a bit more research on how to do trans finishes but until then can you hold the nitro can for me (figuratively)

Just a heads up that your phone autocorrected your white trannie post Jeremy ;-)
Can't have, I've only been searching for black trannies on pornhub!
I had you pegged as a more "equal opportunity" trannie viewer...

That's where punctuation becomes important.

OK. I'm calling it finished (for now...). The pickups might not be the best pairing but they'll do until I find a Nocaster set. DiMarzio Hot T in the bridge and SD Antiquity in the neck.

Can't say that removing the thick paint has added to the guitar's resonance. Side-by-side, and played acoustically, the paulownia bodied Radian is still noticeably louder but the ash-bodied one has a more aggressive edge I think (that'll maybe be the higher output pickup in the bridge). Neck position is very mellow actually.

Anyway, fuck it. Here it is. Pics not the best, sorry:

Thanks to Steve in Dunners for the pickguard by the way.

Ta la. Less good upon close inspection but better than it was when it looked like a Werther's Original.

I thought you had a different neck lined up for your tele project?

Not yet. Somethin' will turn up I'm sure. In the mean time this one's held on with three screws.

Thinking about it, saying this is 'finished' is kind of bullshit, eh? Still a neck to find and pickups to replace... :lolno:

That's pretty good. But it's not really finished till it's got a maple tele neck and a top hat lever switch knob. Just sayin.
