I bought it as a parts caster with a Squire VM Jaguar neck and proper US 65 reissue pickups (which sound great) and figured it would make a good refinish project as it was rough anyway.
After taking the pick guard off when I got it i found a bit of a mess!
Looks like the pickup cavities where chiseled not routed out amongst other things.
Luckily the seller was very apologetic and refunded me $100 to go towards the fact it wasn’t really worth what he was asking. (I’m
Not sure he actually knew how it looked under the pick guard.
Anyway decided not to spend the time and effort on a proper Nitro finish so went with the far cheaper and easier poly finish option.

Didn’t think a Chinese Tokai deserved it’s own NGD though!

ImageI think this Jag will be for sale soon guys if anyone’s interested? USA 65 Jag pickups, 4 way Johny Marr style wiring. If interested let me know, it’s a bit of a mess under the pickguard so I’m thinking around $500 is about right for this guitar.

Love the sound! Don’t like the thin neck!
It’s been chiseled not routed underneath the pickguard so it’s not what I’d call a great guitar, I’ll send some better pics to potential buyers for full disclosure of what’s under the pickguard. but for $500 it’s well
Speced!

GFS Surf 90, they are a dynasonic copy’s and they sound pretty close to what I remember from playing some Gretschs with Dynasonics. Although I’m thinking of swapping them out for some low wind humbuckers.

Yeah that’s nice! I think yours is closer to the actual thing.
Although Lake Placid Blue changes depending on if it’s new or 30 years old so there are many shades in between!

Yeah there does seem to be a huge variation of color in Lake Placid Blue from lighter green to dark blue. Mines not very accurate to orginals as I didn't want the white undercoat.
