and the sale price, should you ever wish to sell it..... $600 Why do we do this to ourselves?Miza wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 7:16 pmHere's the full breakdown of what everything cost me (so far). I looked at building a Tele last year but the price of a good body and neck combined with shipping from the USA made it pretty expensive so I gave up on the idea.
Also, I had $150 worth of Rockshop vouchers, so the case only cost me $50. That helped a bit.
All purchases were made between Sept and Dec last year, so the exchange rate might be different now.

I figure if I ever sell, I'll strip it and sell it as parts again. Not that I will ever sell it (he said to himself convincingly).
Nothing to see here.

Re: Considering a partscaster: Please im-part your knowledge
Progress update.
Applied the decal: Installed string ferrules (was glad they sit flush): And shielded the cavities with copper tape: Although I've since watched a vid that reckons shielding the control cavity is a waste of time, and that the biggest benefit is doing the whole back of the pickguard.
Also, does anyone know if because of the shielding I need to do anything different with the ground wiring for the controls?

you're aiming for a faraday cage, so shield the whole lot.
you also want star grounding with a single source of earth.
you're also using single coils, its still going to be noisy. Especially at the Michael Fowler Centre in Welly....

Lovely job on the ferrules, exactly what I did on my old Tele, glorious!

Update #47:
Filed the bone nut with some very dodgy aliexpress nut files, very amateur job, will see how it plays. Fall back option will be a graphtech tusq nut. And the most nerve wrecking part so far, drilling and attaching the neck.

MJT bridge cavity depth
Any other MJT owners struggle to fit the bridge p/u into the cavity?
I had to drill holes to fit the three p/u screws, and now the cable is getting in the way and preventing the bridge from sitting flush. I'll keep hacking away to get it to fit, but just found it a bit odd?

I'm stressing over doing this on my build, and I'm nowhere near doing this yet.
