You should post that as a 'reel' complete with wagging finger and thumbs up.

Made this little shim for getting a ballpark position for setting pickup heights, although I find 2.5mm on the low side and 2.0mm on the high side when fretting the last fret generally pretty much perfect for me.

Nice! I usually use a diy feeler gauge by stacking up picks of different thicknesses

HA! I have to admit I've done the same in the past, I have one of those little string height rulers but its a faff compared to just sticking a shim in!

Need to enlarge the pot holes in my 8 string, been putting it off cause I wasn't keen to try drill it out, this method looks way safer.

The correct way is to use a reamer, but for a one off, I’ve used a multitool burr and a washer

I almost pulled out my reamer, but figured since it cuts on an angle it would require filing anyway...

What do those things do? I see them on djenty style guitars and still have no idea what they are.

They cut down the ringing behind the nut which comes through when you're doing staccato chugs with lots of pauses.

But, I've used hair scrunchies from the dollar shop for about 3 years and they work perfectly.

Bridge side of the nut you use them for tapping and sweeping to stop the other strings ringing and to make the notes of the ones you are tapping mute when you lift off :-)

You're tapping and sweep picking now? That's some impressive stuff my bro. I can make a mediocre attempt at tapping but the sweeping thing is beyond me. Any tips/ insight?
