Insecure Delusion: a tribute to Tool

Post by hercules »

Hey folks, my Tool tribute band Insecure Delusion had our first outing on Friday and I thought I'd share it here (hopefully the right place!)

It's not particularly high quality but pretty decent for a DSLR camera. I'm on bass and was pretty happy with the tone! Best listened with headphones or good monitors.

Guitar is an Epiphone Adam Jones signature into a Diezel preamp into a Marshall DSL40 with a few secret pedals in the mix. Bass is a USA Stingray Sterling into...a shitload of pedals, then a Markbass rig. Bass pedals below the vid.

Thats awesome! You guys actually look like you're enjoying it too, so that already makes it more fun than a real Tool gig ;)

Yeah the VH4, I bullied him into buying it  never looked back though! It's quite an incredible bit of kit.

Monster bass sound, Love It!
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Thanks for the kind words! What the gear hounds and aficionados won't tell you is that 90% of the Tool bass sound is just smacking the absolute living shit out of the strings.

The other 10% is hideously expensive.

This is a great cover. What a hard band to do a tribute show to!
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.
