My Iggy Pop Audition Fail.

Post by dayl »

Well, I got egged on to dropping a audition, sourced a cam and spent yesterday morning trying to get an audition together.
Finally after not bgeing able to get a clean run down, I broke it down to two vids and picked the lesser of the two evils.
Plenty of mistakes but I thought, not bad for a rush take.

Then I went to upload and the vid and the auditions were closed...... I dont have a net connection anyway. :D

Damn hard track to play lead to huh?
I like some of the licks you did. I thought the octaves at the end work well with the tune.
I got nagged to have a go too, so I tried to come up with some chords and rhythm parts for it and only chucking in a few lead fills. Some it worked, but sounded too much like a different song. I thought I'd need a few weeks to improve it. I gave up and went back to getting my cover of "cum on feel the noize" up to scratch.

They should have extended the due date.

Yep, I spied lots of tastiness in there.

I found my Line6 Podstudio reviews the other day ... someone asked to see them ... but I don't think so. My playing was okay (for a bassplayer) but the actual talking/demoing/reviewing part ... yeah not so much.

The dude with the Tele and pelvic thrusts? :D

The drunk or wasted off his face dude (singing) in the mirror?

The dude playing his Marshall stach in the barn with a wrestling mask? (that was/is my fav)

I don't think Iggy is exactly "normal", but now he is going to think NZ is full of weirdos

If Tim Finn is to believed the average New Zealand bloke has more to fear from Ig than Ig does from them.

From http://www.100xr.com/100_XR/Artists/S/Stooges.htm

"the debut and the group's second album, along with Iggy's outrageous onstage performances, in which he smeared himself with peanut butter and rolled on broken glass..."

I get the feeling Iggy could outweird most people... :D If you want to hear a live album where the singer perseveres against all odds and actually encourages people to beat him up, then Metallic KO's a rare treat. 8)

Iggy is a geriatric punk musician who still makes some awesome songs and plays awesome shows! If that's not weird then I don't know what is
