Similar "Am I ripping someone off?" issue

Post by Jimmy V »

I was just noodling at home yesterday, recording straight into my pc. No prod, it was purely so I could hear back what I was doing. Got onto this gr00ve and recorded over the top of it. Am I ripping someone off? It sounds familiar to me but I can't put my finger on it. Anyone?

PS: Excuse the hiss/rough recording, as I said - mic'd it straight into the pc. Also ignore the finger fart at the end. And the count in is a lot quieter than the actual playing so be aware of that if you listen.

Cheers.

Just sounds like you could have heard similar in a movie soundtrack. Probably Tarantino or Rodriguez.

But no, it doesn't ring bells for me. Cool though. 8)

That sounds like something Captain Beefheart or Jefferson Airplane should have done but did not do.

I hear a mean four on the floor drum part and a bass just going "whomp...whomp...whomp" on the root note underneath that. Do that and women will strip to that music. But no you're fine.

It's in the clear as far as I can tell
"You know something's gone badly wrong with the world when Prince has stopped singing about sex, and Morrissey has started."

That's bang on what I had in mind. I'm going for a certain groove so that's cool thanks.

Cheers everyone! :D

sounds pretty sweet actually.....can't think of anything it might be close to either. Good stuff, all original.

We should have a thread where ppl post small basic jam clips/demos like this for feedback & stuff. Really enjoy listening to what others get up to with their gats & comps.
