Rivera Silent Sister Demo
My new Rivera Silent Sister Iso cab turned up last night.
I thought I had better record a quick demo to try it out.
First impressions are that it sounds really good. None of the "boxiness" that most Isocabs are known for.
It's certainly not silent in the room, but it's pretty good I had my Mark V pretty damn loud and you could still talk over it easily.
You can check the demo out here (I'm no studio mixer, so don't pay too much attention to that aspect of it)

Sounds mean, great riff too!

Re: Rivera Silent Sister Demo
gt75, but it seems to work well in this situation.
I'll chuck a V30 in it to try it out when I stumble across an 8 Ohm one, one day.
But I'm happy enough with it at the moment.

Re: Rivera Silent Sister Demo
Nice results. What was the mic pre/interface?
Another member here got one of these and used it to record a few albums and stuff. I think his handle was Zorran? I went around to buy his Palmer PDI-03 and he put on a demo of the Silent Sister. I was expecting it to be 'silent' and was surprised that i could hear the amp. He pointed out the the Mesa was cranked and would be insanely loud without the iso.
Was it expensive to get here? Is it possible to have two mics inside it?

It has two mic clips inside it and two mic outputs, so yeah I'll buy a different mic to add to it one day.
Yeah I talked to Zorran about it before buying as I knew he'd had one. It's definitely not silent, but as you said, it's a massive reduction.
I bought it from a guy in Wanganui, cost $85 to ship.
They retail at about $1700 new I think.

Re: Rivera Silent Sister Demo
+1 on the monster riffage, very cool!
They are awesome, I recorded with Zorran's one. Not silent, but considering we recorded in his bedroom and my amp master volume was way beyond the painful level, it worked awesomely.
This is recorded with the Silent Sister:
