Finally a descent drummer
hi guys here are a few clips of 16mins performing in DDC Beijing.
we have been playing music without a proper drummer for almost a year.. and it took us 3 different one to finally landed on the right guy. Even this is only the 4th time we played together but I think the band played so much better already.

Nice gig, mate. I had a listen to a few of your clips. For me, I found the drum tones to be not totally suitable for your rep. Not the player - just his tones. We all know that there are as many opinions as there are arseholes, but I'd be wanting him to use electric drums if it was my band. To me, more suitable to your band and would add quite an interesting palette of sounds/feels to your songs. Rog = 2c

While I can hear what you mean, I respectfully disagree. Electronic drums would be a sure-fire way to trash the vibe of this band IMO, YMMV etc.Rog wrote:Nice gig, mate. As I said - everyone has an opinion.

Hopefully everyone has an arsehole too. The reverse would be quite unpleasant.Rog wrote:As I said - everyone has an opinion.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall to see someone suggest to a drummer they should put their beloved kit away and switch to electric drums.Rog wrote:I'd be wanting him to use electric drums if it was my band
Stoney glare and awkward silence?
Hilarity?
Violence?

LOL. I've seen it several times in bands. Three changed (two are still playing them), the rest wouldn't and left their bands. Although, thinking about your comment, its probably a bit like asking me to play an Ibanez, rather than my Fender. I'd be telling them to have sex and travel also.JHorner wrote:I'd like to be a fly on the wall to see someone suggest to a drummer they should put their beloved kit away and switch to electric drums.Rog wrote:I'd be wanting him to use electric drums if it was my band

There is a way. A mesh transducer head that fits to real drums. They work well and sound pretty good.JHorner wrote:I'd like to be a fly on the wall to see someone suggest to a drummer they should put their beloved kit away and switch to electric drums.Rog wrote:I'd be wanting him to use electric drums if it was my band

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: Finally a decent drummer
hi there thanks Rog. yeah e kit isn't ruled out for sure. I can totally see both electric kit and normal drums to be used. In fact in the new ep which we just finished recording the drums for there were about 80percent real kit and 20 percent loop/electric kit.Rog wrote:Nice gig, mate.
