IR Convolution cab test

Post by Cdog »

This is a sound test using my normal live rig... sans speaker cab!

Guitar>Pedalboard>18w> DIY reactive load with line-out>AMT Pangaea>Computer.

Only effects are from the pedalboard, namely a little Korg SDD3000 preamp overdrive and Bluesky set to subtle plate verb. No post effects, except a little panning in Audacity.

The cab IR is an OwnHammer freebie, based on a Bogner Cab with Vintage30 captured by SM57. Apart from the crapballs noodle, I'm pretty stoked for the toanz!

Yay for silent recording! :)

This AMT Pangaea thing is the size of a 1590a, great fun. The Reactive load is based on Aiken amps design, and I've built it into my amp as pictured.

That's pretty awesome!

I've one of these with all the IR cabs if you ever feel like getting something job specific:

They look really awesome Bill... I was definitely looking at the Logidy, its prolly a more serious tool. I went the Pangaea for the extra functions... The downside of my one is it's only 'quasi' stereo (mono in, stereo out.) Perfect for my application tho, and teeny tiny. :)
