iRig/interface query
Hi all,
Haven’t posted here in a wee while but have been lurking again as I’ve been a bit GASsy recently…
I have a query about iRig: I’ve revived a 2011 MacBook Pro and want to use it for rough home recording with GarageBand. Was looking at an iRig 2 but read that for some reason they don’t work with Pros from 2010-13. Does the original iRig also have this problem? If so, can anyone recommend an alternative interface that’s easy to use and ‘affordable’?
Thanks.

Re: iRig/interface query
The original irig used a trs 1/8th connector, designed for phones.I wouldn't use one, even with a phone. try get something simple and usb2 like a toneport gx.

Re: iRig/interface query
welcome back again I'll have a dig around, I may have an original iRig (if I've not biffed it) you're welcome to. Don't hold your breath as I did a big clearout awhile ago and anything I'd not used for awhile went to the basement or the bin.Thewilltopowerrock wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 7:25 pm Hi all,

I have a big plastic box downstairs where everything is temporarily biffed. I'll check in there next time I can brave the cold, damp, cellar....

Re: iRig/interface query
Unless the headphone jack is a combo that accepts a mic on trs, it won't work. I had a MacBook pro,but never used the inbuilt soundcardThewilltopowerrock wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 7:27 pm Thanks all for looking and/or offering, appreciate it.
