Dan, are you happy for me task him questions about its history?
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

RE the noting of serial numbers for back up if a guitar gets stolen, I reckon its a good idea to scratch a name on the underside of a trem cover or control cavity plate. Chances are whoever steals it won't look and if you ever do see it in a Cash Converters or something, you can just unscrew that to prove it's your's.

That's a mighty good idea actually. Think I might just do that with some of mine.cholera wrote:RE the noting of serial numbers for back up if a guitar gets stolen, I reckon its a good idea to scratch a name on the underside of a trem cover or control cavity plate. Re: Missing: Gibson ES135
i've always done that with the majority of my gear-although most of my guitars are unique/one offs so serial no#s are a bit irrelevant
Re: Missing: Gibson ES135
Starting to get a bit worried about this all as it nears closer to ending. I've had contact with the police but not really completely sure what is going on with regards to getting it back. Hopefully get a follow up on this tomorrow.

If you need to I can put a big bid on it, at least some random won't get burnt and you'll have a contact email as a backup...

That'd be awesome if you could do that mate. Problem is you'll wear a bad feedback most likely, but I'm sure trademe would sort that out after provided the police do their job. Up to you though, that would be useful none the less. I'm not too keen to use my account with my name

I'll keep an eye and do that tomorrow. Yeah the feedback should get sorted by TM eventually, not too worried.

I'll be chasing it up a lot before the close of auction tomorrow, so I'll be keeping you guys updated.
Re: Missing: Gibson ES135
Okay, my father has been doing a bunch of detective work from Thailand it seems.
He listed it on trademe 3 years ago infact to an inconclusive sale. I now have 5 photos from that, and a serial number quoted from the original auction. Hopefully this is enough detail to seal the deal. Will be taking it into the police station as evidence tomorrow.
