Rockshop Albany - High End Guitars taken ...
We’re reaching out to the musical community in Aotearoa for your help. A smash and grab robbery at our Albany Branch in Auckland saw the theft of some very high end, distinctive and unique guitars.
As usually happens, the thieves will look to dispose of these beautiful instruments quickly and for cents in the dollar. If it looks too good to be true…it will be.
If you hear of any of this product being offered up for sale, get in touch…our gratitude will be appropriately expressed.
We’re as heartbroken as you would be. These instruments deserve to be owned, cherished and played…not stolen and ditched for cash.
We’ve had stolen:
Gibson ES335 Dot Left Hand – faded cherry
Gibson Les Paul 57 Custom Gold Top
Gibson SG Custom 61 ( 60th Anniversary) – Cherry Red
Gibson Les Paul 50s Standard – Tobacco Sunburst
PRS “Dusty Waring” – Grey Black Satin
Fender Telecaster 75th Diamond Anniversary
PRS SE Standard 24 – Tobacco Sunburst
Anonymous information is welcomed.

That 57 Goldtop is a gorgeous instrument.

Do you think they knew what they were looking for, or just went off the price tags?
Also, I have an alibi.

Re: Rockshop Albany - High End Guitars taken ...
That's bad.
In an unrelated thing, I'm planning on running a wanted ad on TradeMe. Something like:
Wanted
Gibson ES335 Dot Left Hand – faded cherry
Gibson Les Paul 57 Custom Gold Top
Gibson SG Custom 61 ( 60th Anniversary) – Cherry Red
Gibson Les Paul 50s Standard – Tobacco Sunburst
PRS “Dusty Waring” – Grey Black Satin
Fender Telecaster 75th Diamond Anniversary
PRS SE Standard 24 – Tobacco Sunburst
Ok. Bad joke, sorry. Nobody wants a PRS SE.
Ok. Another bad joke. But at least that shows they were chancers rather than musicians.

Sorry to hear about that. Thieves suck. Speaking with Torpedo 7 in Hamilton in weekend and they've been hit twice recently. First time, fixed windows at a cost of $70K, a week later another car was driven through again. It seems like every second shop in Hamilton is being hit every other month. Loser crims.

That's rough. Hope the staff are ok. Will keep an eye out!
Surely they're not going to be stupid enough to list them on TradeMe or Facebook Marketplace...

I don't know all the info but it seems calculated. I don't think someone just drove past and went 'aw yeah lets nick them' - not a crime of opportunity.
But who knows. Criminals are dumb. As Molly points out.

How are you Dave? We had heard you'd been back in hospital. I assume you're back on deck now.

Just joking. Tim Pearce gave one away recently that sounded fantastic. He was blown away by it.
Still don't want one...
