NZPOST normally ask me what I'm sending and how much it's worth when I take it in. If it's over 450, they say they're not allowed to accept it. I think the amount is 450, I can't rememberjeremyb wrote:It's my fault really, I read on their site that they have insurance available for 4% of nominated value, but it appears thats not available on the amp when I actually booked it My contents insurance will cover all but accidental damage, so thats not much use either unless it gets lost...Molly wrote:So long as the buyer understands that it's sent at their risk. I make a point of emphasising that but I also do a bloody good job of packing stuff.jeremyb wrote:Bit worried about my L2T which I'm sending via mainfreight to dunners, packed pretty well, but there will be no insurance on it!

I offer to do this. Label and bubble-wrap them etc. But it's surprising how many buyers would rather I didn't.Aquila Rossa wrote:
p.s. always a good idea to remove valves when shipping.
This thread just adds to my disenchantment with the whole gear-in / gear-out business. I've always thought with the sheer volume of stuff the likes of Oldie and I get through it's only a matter of time before something goes missing or gets totally knackered.

It actually looks like it has broken right out of its outer frame (where the bolts live).calling card wrote:Not much boltage holding the transformer I'd say.

If I remember rightly the transformer cradle came loose when I bought it. The original owner had it soldered to the base. It probably worked loose again?

Sheeeeiiiiittttt.
Hopefully they drop it on the other end on the way back to the seller and it somehow reverses the original damage. Is that how it works?
