Is this Normal??

Hey guys, i have my Valve Jr and Ashton 4x12 cab setup with my Hardwire TL2 and for some reason, i have the pedal on good settings, not a high level (volume) and yet, Its so friggin loud! I have the amp on bearly 1. And i know loud amps, Im just saying, for a practice volume... Thats where its set... Not that loud volumes make a difference as ilive in the country... But still.

Any thoughts?

4? 3? Roughly around there. gains at full but the overall volume is controlled via the Level knob

i found the volume to be effective to about 3 on mine whereabouts it would just get dirtier,if yoiur using a pedal just turn down the level.....?

My VJ has quite a jump in volume between 0 and when the sound starts coming out, the knob is more like an on/off switch in the fist part of its range. I stuck a master volume in mine which is good to crank down and make the main volume knob more controllable at the low end.
