The philosophy of "technically", is technically not a philosophy
because there are still many technicalities, although technically
speaking it can technically still be a philosophy, but it all
depends on how you can technically see technically, technically.

I read an interesting take on amp EQing the other day.
Basically, you turn each knob and find the point on the dial where turning it up any more doesn't make that much difference to the tone. Do that with all the EQ knobs, and the gain and it should sound pretty great.

erm. yeah.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

If every setting sounds good, why do you want people that can't hear it give you advice on what settings to use?Thomas234 wrote:Hey guys!

Can you google the manual?
It might have Steve Vai's settings in it, otherwise, just make some up of your own...it's only treble, mids and bass, if in doubt, point them all straight up and leave them alone!

Oh, and if you can't get it sorted, I'll swap you an amp with way less dials!

shit not with the legacy.....it will blow your head off, smash every window on your street and make the sky bleed at the volume. Hands down the loudest amp I have heardshinenz wrote:Volume on 11 helps to

I suppose in modern settings everything's mic'd no a days and that much volume from either amp is not necessary or usable.willow13 wrote:obviously hard to compare from memory but yes I think so...Phil might be able to chime inTonemaker wrote:

You can google the settings for the amp, looks like there on other sites or you can look for a youtube amp demo vid that might show the settings, however I was just reading that the EVO pickups might have a bit to do with it all as well as a keeley ds1 pedal in front of the map.

Re: Carvin legacy settings? help!
Hey thanks guys! yea the amp is amazingly and insanely loud haha its like a standard 100w tube amp on 5 where it sits on one! haha there used to be the settings in the carvin website but I think they took it down! knowing its 10+ years old haha. The whole rig is actually really mint! it loooked like it just came out of the shop minus the damage on the legacy badge but nothing a paint can fix.
I tried everything! I may have to bring it during gearfest in auckland! haha every single setting you do sounds good! you can easily get a marshall tone too!
Yep! Im using a Satchurator (sounds like a keeley ds-1 2 me) and evo pickups installed on my guitar! Completely ditched my Valveking aye haha Now im thinking whether i should sell the XXX but I might just keep it now 2 and get a Switch pedal! haha.. I'll sell the VK head. haha
The gain is thick and more into rock and could easily get that classic marshall tube but adding a BM or SD-1 makes it an out of control beast haha.
Atm my treble is at 2:00 mid at 12:00 and bass at 12:00 even if i turn the bass up, it still sounds amazing. It doesn't destroy your chord progression its like every adjustment is usable unlike the VK or the XXX haha (maybe the marshall)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wW10k98Gvt4 If only it was miked up properly! haha
