I did a good thing! BOSS Acoustic Singer amp video

Post by handsoffmatt »

Not sure if any of you guys have been watching this years NAMM releases, but we announced a new Acoustic Singer amplifier at the NAMM show that has had simply awesome response and is a genuinely great product.

I'm also particularly personally invested in it as I was asked to produce the global launch video for it. After a bunch of hard work, I'm pretty stoked with how it turned out. Hopefully you've already seen it as it's had over 80,000 views on Facebook in AU/NZ, but if you haven't yet seen it, check it out....

Looks good, didn't quite finish it though, had to go outside and smash up my steel string guitar.

So many notes with the thumb and index finger! Marvellous playing.
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Cool man, nice work on the video producing. How does it stack up soundwise alongside an AER compact? Is it competing with those amps or is it more on the Roland end of things?

Haven't seen as much from NAMM this time since the guy that used to go from the Rockshop didn't post about it. Anyone know what happened to him?

Thanks!

The new BOSS Acoustic Singer amp is a different animal compared to the Roland AC acoustic amps. It was built to compete in the Fishman Loudbox sort of price area whilst offering superior sound quality. It wasn't built with the AER market in mind, but in fact when I took the prototype to Lloyd for him to check out, his first, unsolicited comment was "Well, that kicks ass all over an AER!"

Actually Lloyd (the artist in the video) has been vocal for many years in his dislike of acoustic guitar amps, favouring instead the "plug into a PA speaker approach". However, he totally dug the new BOSS Acoustic Singer amp and was happy to put his name against it.

That's awesome! I love the features. I'll have to give them a spin once they hit NZ.

Katanas are frikken awesome. I have a Katana head that I enjoy playing as much as my Soldano SLO - despite the fact that it's about 10% the value...
