Amp Repair In Auckland - Suggestions

Post by adrian0476 »

Apparently Clarry doesn't live in Auckland anymore so I'm after someone to repair my wife's Fender Hotrod Deluxe that doesn't take 3 to 6 months of continually chasing up. The overdrive channel is almost silent. Suspected valves at first but have had these tested and they check out ok so more likely something on the PCB causing problems.

I just spoke to Clarry about his rumoured exit from Auckland and he said (Quote) " tell them I will only be leaving here in a wooden box"

Could we have an update and contact details in this post for Auckland amp repairs? I have an old solid state with an issue of volume drops and difficulty getting it back up (pots have been cleaned out with electro clean with temporary results).

Clarry doesn't work on solid-state from memory.

This is a bloke called Keith Prictor on the North Shore (Bayview) who used to service amps a few years back, not sure if still doing it.

Yeah Clarry declined to look at my bass players Jansen Crusader SS amp.

Took it to Jansen, but they don't actually touch it, they just send it to an amp tech whose identity they keep to themselves. Which means you get no direct communication with the tech and your bill is whatever it is.

Their amp tech was John Veldwijk, he has now retired & only does repairs if he feels like it.
Epiphone Riviera P93 & EJ200CE, Hagstrom Viking Bass, Doubleneck bass/guitar.
Rivera Clubster 45, Carvin AG100D, Ashton BSK158.

another vote for Alan Anvil Amps. he fixed my old Australian made Eminar a few years ago and its still rocking along 100%
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.
