sorry to hear about your ear issues, no pun intended
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Or in my case, its been a steady progression down since the age of 11. My left ear was operated on when I was 18 where they took a skin graft from the side of my head onto the eardrum. This didn't take and the eardrum calcified. Recently I suddenly lost a lot of hearing in my 'good ear' to the extent that they suspect it could be caused by a brain tumour, hence the ct scan I'm having tomorrow. But yes, look after your hearing.

Yeah I'm probably 30% deaf in my right ear. No middle ear to speak of on that side tho thanks to an operation @ 14, so thats understandable...
Weirdly enough when I do use in-ears (a pet hate of mine), I only use one, and that one is in the deaf ear (where most of the highs are 'rolled off'). I prefer having the ambient room/stage noise and use the in-ear just for the absolute necessities (tons of me, a little of the singer, probably the kick so I am vaguely in time).
Means your mix in the ear sounds crap as a result of the partial deafness, and all you're really getting is whether you are in key or not.

Wedge FTW every day of the week.

Yeah I know at the very least I have an operation coming up on the good ear... the ear drum has a depression that is starting to rub on the inner ear, chances are that's probably causing the current deafness and not a tumour. meh, we'll see shortly.

Good luck with scan.

I was injected with radioactive iodine and put under a gamma scanner a while back. The result was either going to be Graves Disease or Thyroid Cancer. Massive relief when it turned out to be Graves. Hope yours is not the biggie.

Seriously though, if I had said I have to spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair, would it be appropriate to ask if I was LEGLESS hahah.

I'm currently losing my hearing and facing an operation to remove parts of my middle ear, to save the infection spreading. HAHAHA
