Ok so I need either a reasonable length (say 4M) speaker cable with male 1/4" plug at one end and speaker spades at the other or a similar length cable with a male 1/4" plug at one end and a female 1/4" socket at the other. Any ideas where I might get this and/or who might make this sort of thing for me?

Pop into Surplustronics on queen street. They might have something, but they'll definitely have the parts at least and if you ask nicely might even solder it up for you.
