Greenstone Bellbirds
Aside from individual amps that have done the rounds, the only stuff that really gets picked up by a bunch of people at once is the cheap stuff, and ZT lunchbox aside, there havent been that many exciting cheap amps.

I only sold it because it wasn't really loud enough....Bg wrote:there have been many amps that have done the rounds of the forum. Blacko's JTM45 came to me, then went to Slowy then went to Toany I believe. Each one of us loved it, but couldn't deal with the loudness required to make it sound so awesome. I used it at the last mission bay bluesfest, outdoors without micing up, it was great for that 100 meters away.
Where is it now? I kind of fancy owning it again.

There were two, both the same and both needed to be converted to heads as the combo sounds too thin.slash-ed wrote:That Soldano Reverb O Sonic has certainly done the rounds here too.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

The JTM45...I too look at them and feel the stirring, knowing only too well I can't handle them. That did sound glorious and it is still kinda in the family....
The Tamerlane - great sounding amp. Too loud at 12 watts. End of story.
Greenstone - yes, I think one of mine went to Bg?
AC30's - I'm sure someone has had one of my many AC's?
The TopHat Super Deluxe?

I have one of those too.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: Amps of note in this forum's history
i had one for a bit-i'd say they were utilitarian at best.Speaker was loud enough to jam with but pretty pants, and the fact it had a speaker meant it was a little too big to be at its most practical(under a pedal train to my way of thinking)codedog wrote:Has anyone in ChCh got a ZT lunchbox?
