High gain amp reccomend

Post by Olderama »

Hi all

Looking for at least something to sit on top of my cab
So options
Peavy 6505+
Blackstar Ht100
Laney Irt 60
Engl Screamer
Marshall DSL 100

I'm pretty sure most of you guys have had and tried some of these any pros cons ect
The Laney seems to give the best value with options

Any other suggestions

Cheers

Million dollar question
Probably something that can utilise the bootleg for hair metal
And the chapman for drop tuning
So really a metal amp as such

Mark V is a great amp. Covers a lot of ground, from magnificent clean cleans to full on face melting.

There's been the odd Single Rec Mesa floating around on TM, worth considering.

Not really a problem if it's just going to sit on top of a cabinet and not be moved though.
