your amp is too loud so you're considering a 15 and a 4x10 stack?

have you considered a single low efficiency 1x10 instead?
No, actually. I'm always mentally preparing for the band that'll never emerge.

On that note, a local bloke told me in the cafe today that he was putting together a band to play traditional Irish music. He's got a spoons player and wondered if I'd like to play some guitar. Oh, I'll play guitar alright but if he's going to compete with my Dr.Z that guy's going to need a much bigger pair of spoons... :-)

Spoons. Not an instrument I automatically associate with traditional Irish music. In terms of my musical career, jamming with a cutlery section might just be an all time low.

My Supro's got a 15. Sounds good. Therefore, 15s are good.

There just might be a baritone in my near future. Would a 15 be the right thing for it? Somehow I can't imagine Celestion Blues doing justice to it but feel free to edjukate me.

part of my love for 15's comes from being a baritone/downtuned player for 25 odd years-but it depends on how you intend to use it.Will sound different in a band setting than noodling at home

I've been using a JBL K130 in my excelsior for some time now & it really cuts through the mix and with 103 Db compared to the original 97, it's a big volume increase.
