I watched the kemper one a few days ago, the kemper was louder and sounded different because of the volume difference. not really all that fair imo
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

I like this - it works both ways.
Paying next to nothing for something then making it work well is great.

They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

We really should do a blind amp test at a NZ guitars tone fest. Set up a screen across the room; get all the amps ready behind the screen; one person behind the screen swaps the lead into the different amps. We'll need a kemper, a katana, a marshall plexi, a tweed fender, a blackface fender, a twin reverb, an Ac30, Mark V, and a peavey bandit. Each person who takes part sticks $10 in a jar. The person who calls it the most right walks with the jar, and with the kudos. The person who gets the most wrong, gets banned from NZ guitars for a month, or has his or her avatar changed to a picture of a baboon's arse. In fact forget that second penalty as I want the baboon's arse avatar for myself.

George Martin tells a story about when stereo was first introduced. They gathered all these sound engineers in a room, with the speakers behind a screen and demonstrated things moving across the sound field etc. When they did the big reveal, all the people were stunned that their was no 'middle' speaker. It wasn't intuitive that things with equal volume left/right would be perceived as in the middle, and you didn't need a middle speaker.

Anyway...nothing to to do with your post or the thread.

For me I can't really tell the difference between amps till they're at volume.

I quite the layout of this video

Think it give a more real expectation of what your getting too.

Also did someone say tequila?
