So i didn't get around to adjusting the volume because i decided to break something else instead:
I replaced the power valve fuses and the power section came back to life, sweet.
Jamming along with just the amp, no effects.
Getting dark, power valves are looking cool af.
"I'll just quickly whip off the shields so i can see all the valve goodness"
*Doesn't turn off amp first.
As fx loop shield comes off, amp goes silent.
"FFS not again"
Turn off amp and walk away. My stupidity is burning my head.
Come back this morning and open it up.
All fuses are intact this time.
No sign of any burnt out components.

Re: Line level valve fx loops
The metal cover for the valve. Probably caused a short when i took it off but i don't see how.Optical wrote:What's the fx loop shield? Sounds like you've disconnected the signal path at the loop somehow
I've tried swapping the valve in case i damaged it, but no better.

Re: Line level valve fx loops
Pulling the shield wouldn't normally cause a problem when the amp is running. Maybe the socket has an issue, perhaps fractured a solder joint on the PCB ?
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...
