Vox 100w combo speaker replacement
My vox combo has 2 x 12 inch 16ohm 80w vox speakers. Apparently it's a great rock /metal amp. Alas - speakers blown. My question is could /should I replace with 2 x 16ohm wired parallel as it currently is (giving 8 ohms overall) or 2x4ohm speakers in series giving 8 ohms overall? Is there even a way to use 2 x 8ohm speakers to total 8ohms? 16ohm speakers are quite hard to find and often expensive. Cheers.

I think you'll find 16 ohm speakers easier to find than 4 ohms ones?

No you can't get 8ohm from 2 x 8 ohm speakers.
16 ohm speakers are actually very common. Especially ones that have formerly been in 412 cabs.
You could go new on Trademe and check out the Eminence lineup.
